This past week, the Feehan community gathered together to honor the lives of present and past veterans at the annual Veterans Day Prayer Service. This event could not have been possible without the support of the Bishop Feehan Veteran’s Day Committee, a motivated group of seniors who all helped plan and organize this special event.
We spoke with multiple Feehan seniors who worked to put the prayer service together, including John Marcelonis ‘26, and Macrina Awad ‘26. John was in the video, and he has family working directly in the military. His testimony about his grandfather was an inspiration to future Feehan students about the importance of sharing one’s own stories and experiences with veterans.
Macrina, on the other hand, worked behind the camera, and produced the video that Feehan watched on the big screen at the prayer service. When asked about the challenges of putting this video together, she responded that “the time was very difficult. I only had a couple of days to put this video together and there were many things to film”.
While planning this event had its easy parts and hard parts, everyone involved truly made the prayer service come to fruition, completing another successful Veteran’s day and commemorating our Feehan community and its veterans.
