On March 7th, Bishop Feehan High School held its annual Setting Our Hearts on the
Things Above Gala. The Bishop Feehan community gathered at the Rhode Island Convention
Center for the largest fundraiser of the year.
The event featured a variety of fundraising opportunities, including raffles, a silent
auction, and a live auction ranging from experience-based packages to donated goods and
services. By the end of the night, the Gala raised more than $760,000 in support of Bishop
Feehan’s programs, facilities and student opportunities.
The event relied on the coordination of Jennifer Smith, the Director of Special Events and
Volunteer Management at Bishop Feehan High School, and over 100 student volunteers,
including members of the McCauley Ambassador program. Student volunteers assisted with
guest check-in, registration, and event logistics, helping ensure the evening ran efficiently.
Mr. and Mrs. Bumila P’26 and Mr. and Mrs. Titov P’26 were the co-chairs of the Gala, who helped with planning and encouraged others to attend.
Attendance reflected strong community involvement, with around 500 alumni from every
decade as well as many current parents, Bishop Feehan Faculty, Staff and Administration, and other special guests such as Superintendent Dan Roy, and Bishop da Cunha.
Bishop Feehan High School also announced that Michell ‘70 and Dennis Kelly received
the Sr. Patricia Harrington Hero of Catholic Education award at the Gala. The award recognizes their decades of service and support for Catholic education across the Diocese of Fall River, including their role in Feehan’s successful Daring to Believe capital campaign and their broader philanthropic impact.
Overall, the annual Gala continues to serve not only as a fundraiser, but also as a
measurable demonstration of community engagement. With participation numbers, fundraising totals, and volunteer involvement all reflecting strong support, the event remains a central tradition within the Bishop Feehan community.
