Dear Lucky,
I am a senior student and am waiting to hear back from the colleges I applied to. I am very worried— what if I don’t get into the school I want to attend? I have put so much effort into my academics during my past four years of high school.
I cannot wait any longer for the results, but at the same time I’m scared to see them! What should I do?
Sincerely,
Stressed Senior

Dear Stressed Senior,
Congratulations on taking the initial step of applying to college! That process alone can cause anxiety.
I understand the stress that comes with waiting for responses, especially since you don’t know what they will say. My advice is to not spend excessive time worrying about potential outcomes; you’ll only know the true results when they come out.
Also, if you are disappointed with a result, that’s okay. It’s natural to feel upset. However, you should remember that unexpected results may not simply be a rejection, but rather a redirection of your future, and that can be positive!
Good luck in the upcoming months, and stay strong!
Sincerely,
Lucky
