Science Fair of 2022

Kate DeVincent

The coronavirus has affected many things in the past two years; one of those events being the 2022 Bishop Feehan Science Fair. This year’s science fair was almost one hundred percent virtual due to the rising number of coronavirus cases.

The science fair is a step-by-step process assigned completely on google classroom. The process of completing a project lasted for about five months. You were able to choose your own project and complete it over the assigned time period. Participants had the ability to choose a project based on any field of science. The fields ranged from microbiology to environmental science causing much variety among the projects.

The participants had the opportunity to get either first, second, or third place along with honorable mention. There is also a “Best of Fair” award. The freshman winners of honorable mention were Brooke Kennedy, Avary Serpa, Owen Hanna, Domenic Catanese, and Rohit De. Nicholas Swenson won third place, Katherine Zhang won second place, and Ritika Roy won first place. The sophomore winners of honorable mention were Alexandra Llamas, Mark Botros, Arianna Simoneau, Meghan Chan, San Elkerton, and Jillion Conlon. Adam Johnson won third place, Molly Sullivan won second place, and Amy Lawton won first place. The “Best in Fair” ward winner was Victoria Parent.
