Dear Lucky,

I’m struggling to come up with good New Year’s Resolutions for 2023 and I really want to start the year off well. Do you have any advice?

Sincerely,

New Beginnings

Dear New Beginnings,

New Year’s Resolutions can be tough, but it sounds like you’re motivated and ready to give them a real go. My main piece of advice is to make sure you’re picking goals that are attainable and practical for your life. Don’t focus on something that requires too much time or won’t fit into your schedule, as you will be setting yourself up to fail. Try to choose a resolution that is small, but impactful, and give yourself grace as you try to weave this new habit into your life. It will take time. I recommend doing one small thing every day, instead of trying to change your whole lifestyle in the first week of 2023. Oftentimes, New Year’s Resolutions are forgotten by February, but making these practices habitual and part of your regular routine will help you avoid this. Lastly, make sure to hold yourself accountable in a healthy way. Try to keep up with your resolution, but know that messing up a few times is expected and just fine.

Happy New Year,

Lucky ☘️
