Last Friday, the Bishop Feehan Tri-M Honor Society put on their production of this year’s benefit concert: The Beatles. Cast members and stage managers consisted of students Ava Albonetty, Margot Bedau, Vivienne Brodsky, Ryan Burdette, Sophia Castro, Mackayla Creighton, Emily Farrell, Christopher Langelier, Logan Leblanc, Amelia Mills, Laney O’Donnell, Julia Pratt, Conner Rachwal, Matthew Roslonek, Lily Sawyer, Caroline Schmitt, Summer Stowik-Arteaga, Alexandra Terrien, Sarah Grounsell, and Ryan Poisson.
Together, this talented cast put on an electric show and displayed their talent through a variety of The Beatles’ songs, including mellow ones such as Hey Jude, Come Together, Blackbird, and Here Comes the Sun, as well as upbeat ones such as Helter Skelter, Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, Eight Days a Week, and Twist and Shout.
Not only did the musicians’ outstanding performance shock the crowd, but it also helped to raise money for an amazing cause. This year, all proceeds from the ticket sales were donated to Camp Sunshine, a camp for families with children with life-threatening conditions. Senior singers Sophia Castro and Lily Sawyer spoke about how and why they decided to play The Beatles’ music this year. They said that when they had volunteered at Camp Sunshine in the past, they hosted a music event with the children and had the chance to sing Here Comes the Sun with them.
Their experience singing The Beatles songs with the children inspired them to make this year’s benefit concert The Beatles, as well as give all of their proceeds to Camp Sunshine in order to help such a wonderful cause with wonderful children and families. The benefit concert this year was very successful, and it has raised a large amount of donations for the benefit of Camp Sunshine.
