Dear Lucky,
I’m currently a junior (soon to be senior) and I’m already so overwhelmed with college and other senior tasks for next year. I don’t know anything about the college application process and I’m not even sure what I want to study in college! I know senior year is such an exciting and fun time but I feel so behind with everything college-related. Do you have any advice for juniors like myself who aren’t sure where to start?
Sincerely,
Anxious Junior
Dear Anxious Junior,
It is completely understandable to feel stressed and a bit overwhelmed during this journey! Most seniors have to go through the dreadful process that is college decisions, but don’t let this get you down. Feehan has a great summer program that specifically helps rising seniors with any questions they may have about this process: the Shamrock College Admissions Clinic. This program informs students about the overall college application process and helps students set up Common App accounts and learn any information that they may need for college. By attending this program the summer before all of the college chaos starts, you will already be prepared and well ahead of your classmates. https://students.arbitersports.com/programs/shamrock-college-admissions-clinic
Similarly, I recommend really taking the time to research, whether that be scouting the internet for college information, talking with friends or family, and going on tours. Knowing as much as you possibly can about the colleges you’re applying to can cut out any stress or uncertainty you may experience. Along with both of these things, keep in mind that your guidance counselor is always here to support and help you! If you have any pressing questions or just want to chat, guidance at Bishop Feehan is readily available to address any concerns that you may have.
Feehan has a great support system and network of people ready to help you: all you have to do is ask! The college process is really stressful at times, but just know that there are people every step of the way that can help you in any way they can.
Good luck to all rising seniors!
Sincerely,
Lucky
