On Wednesday, March 19th, Mr. O’Brion’s Marketing and Communications classes hosted special guest, Geoff Dion. A proud graduate of Bishop Feehan High School’s Class of 2012, Dion has successfully transformed his passion for sports into a thriving career in the sports entertainment industry.
After graduating from Feehan, Dion went to Merrimack College and graduated in 2016. He is now the fan engagement manager of Kraft Sports and Entertainment. It is his job to plan a lot of the events that go on in Gillette Stadium, including sporting events, concerts, and more. He is currently working on an event in Germany.
Dion said that 80% of his work involves the Patriots 10% miscellaneous tasks, and the other 10% consists of planning events. Dion’s favorite experiences are being part of two Super Bowl parades and also traveling with the team, and he hopes to lead his department one day. Dion also shared valuable advice for students preparing to enter the workforce, encouraging them to make their resume standout.
Dion’s visit not only helped Feehan students learn about the world of sports marketing but also showed them that following your passion can lead to great opportunities.
