Below is a bio written by each of the Class of 2026 Student Council candidates.
Alexander Bove
“In your heart you know he’s right.”
Email address: [email protected]

Leadership experience:
– Massachusetts Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Conference in 2024
– BSA Narragansett Council Northwest Troop 1 Diamond Hill, serving as assistant senior patrol leader since June 2024
– Two years of Bishop Feehan High School student council experience, 2023-2024 as a representative and 2024-2025 as an officer
Skills:
– Locution: I am effective at conveying necessary information to both the council and the student body. I do not ignore details nor overemphasize trivialities.
– Character: Popeye often said, “I am what I am, and that’s all that I am.” I strive every day to be equally forthright. I am by no means perfect, but I know that all can expect me to be honest and unambiguous in what I say and do.
– Resolve: Never have I been known to allow that which assails me to prevent my success. I am inclined to say that success is what I have attained in all reaches of my life where it was possible, and by perseverance I shall put in the effort.
Goals:
– To improve order: Though the council itself has become better organized, seeking to improve the efficiency of events would be a major help. Order yields more time, and more time means the possibility of more activities to enjoy. This is strictly necessary in attaining the maximum possible benefit from what little time remains of our schooling.
– To bolster student satisfaction: The ongoing lack of confidence in the council, observable by survey and public commentary, is a testament to the need for renewed vigor in pursuing the interests of the student body as stated to the council.
– To demystify: The nature of the council itself is often misunderstood. It is not a governing body, nor a legislative one, but rather a set of organizers and volunteers. Conveying this purpose would allow students to understand both the abilities and limitations of the council so as to aid them in leveraging the council to its fullest potential.
Why I want to serve:
– We’ve had a good run together; two years ago I spoke of the need of better communication. Last year I called for cleaner organization in the council, and I would hazard to say we have it now. As we approach our final year at this school, changing horses in midstream seems imprudent. I am in a fine position to run once again, and optimally to win.

Alexandra DeGuzman
“A new voice that speaks for you”
Email address: [email protected]
Leadership experience:
– McAuley Ambassador since Sophomore Year
– Board Member of Feehan Multicultural Association
– Feehan Against Hate workshop leader]
Skills:
– I listen to people, allowing their voices to be heard and allowing myself to be critiqued about what I may be doing wrong. This helps me understand what many people need, not just the needs of the few.
– I am adaptable, allowing everyone’s ideas to be heard and changing plans to better suit the situation at hand.
– I am passionate about whatever is important to me, driving me to reach my goals as a leader.
Goals:
– If I am elected to student council, I have the goals of improving the already great program of STUCO, doing the best I am able to help the school and my class for senior year. I want to encourage more participation in school events, like the games of the week, tag days, and all other events that help support the school or the sports teams. I also want to encourage more events for the school that show off school spirit, possibly like a movie night, to help bring the class together for our senior year.
Why I want to serve:
– I would like to serve on student council because I feel as though I could make a positive difference in this program, being able to serve the school and my class for its last year. I want to make a mark on the school by bringing out the best in the class and helping the school become a better place for everyone.

Leadership experience:
– Special Olympics Basketball Unified Partner
– Certified Lifeguard
– Varsity Tennis
Skills:
– Productive
– Decisive
– Collaborative
Goals:
– Create a more enthusiastic and energetic environment.
– Get everybody involved in school events, not just the same people every time.
– Create more opportunities for students to give input on how to improve the school environment.
Why I want to serve:
– I think the class of 2026 has a hard time getting into things and getting involved in some cases. We often come in third or fourth in class competitions due to the fact that we are just not that into it. I want to serve on student council to encourage people in the class of 2026 to get involved and be enthusiastic at student events instead of just being a bystander or a watcher.

Maria Pallapotula
“Maria will take your Senior Year UP UP and away”
Email address: [email protected]; Instagram: mariapallapotula

Leadership experience:
– Class Representative for our Junior Year
– Homeroom Representative for our Sophomore Year
– Vice president of the Feehan Multicultural Association
Skills:
– Communication: I believe the key to an organized leadership is communication. I am confident in my ability to build relationships, foster collaboration and adapt to feedback. If we want to make our senior year a good one, it is essential that we communicate with each other.
– Vision: I have a vision for our senior year. By having clear cut goals about what we want to achieve next year, it will allow me to inspire and motivate others to work towards a common goal.
– Passion: My passion is what drives me to be a good and effective leader. I am passionate about student council and inspiring change in our school. As seniors it’s time to leave a mark behind and I believe that passion will allow us to achieve all our goals.
Goals:
– New Traditions for Senior year. Although we have some amazing traditions at feehan I think that it’s time for some change and new ideas to come forth. If elected to council I am willing to pitch new ideas to the administration in order to establish new traditions at Feehan like field days.
– Surveying Students more often for Feedback. If elected I plan on employing more polls on the school instagram in order to more accurately get an idea of what the student body wants.
– Making better use of the Class of 26 Instagram. The class instagram was brand new this year but I feel that it wasn’t utilized as much as it should have been. If elected again this year I plan on making even better use of the instagram with more interactive stories and posts.
Why I want to serve:
– I want to serve on student council because I believe that it is the key to having an impact on our school and inspiring change. The Class of 2026 has the potential to do something important in this community— not just now in this moment but also for all the underclassmen who follow in our footsteps. I want to help build a stronger community who are able to leave behind a lasting legacy at Bishop Feehan and Student Council is the key to that.
