Are you looking for a club to add to your college résumé? Are you interested in taking photos, on either a camera, or even an iPhone? Are you hoping to start a portfolio for college? Or wanting to know what camera to buy? Join Photography Club! Photography Club, hosted by Julia McLaughlin ‘26 and moderated by Mrs. Simoneau, meets every other Monday at 7:15 a.m. in the Dion Day Room on the third floor of Mercy Hall.
The Photography Club was established fairly recently by Julia McLaughlin ‘26. She wanted to find a way to connect people through the art of photography, and teach others how to explore themselves through taking photos. To accomplish this, she talked to Mrs. Simoneau, the head of Communications at Bishop Feehan. With Mrs. Simoneau’s help, she created a low-commitment, high-energy club that anyone — photography experience or not — could join! Something else she established throughout the club meetings was that a camera is appreciated, but not required at all! Lots of the members in the club would like to learn how to take better photos on their iPhone or Android.
Recently, the Photography Club hosted a meeting on Monday, February 24th. Mrs. Simoneau, the club’s moderator, was the special guest, and she spoke about her photography experience in the workforce. At Photography Club, everyone seems to have a good time, so be sure to attend!
