This year, Bishop Feehan Theatre Company took a bold step in showcasing their talent with a powerful and moving performance of Hadestown: Teen Edition. This show is very well known among theatre folk for its music and complex themes. It was reimagined by an incredibly talented team led by Mrs. Strunin and Mrs. Seals, along with students.
Hadestown: Teen Edition brings the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice into a musical retelling with jazz, blues, and folk. The show explores themes of love, fate, and sacrifice in a way that will highly resonate with the audience.
What makes Feehan’s production even more special is the incredible involvement of students and their creative choices. We will see students stepping up as directors, choreographers, crew members, and even working in animation. The amount of involvement from students outside of just performing brings an extra spark to the show, as well as Mrs. Strunin’s incredible vision and Mrs. Seals excellent musical direction.
Overall, this production of Hadestown is a standout, not just for the talented cast and crew. With its unique blend of music and storytelling, this show is very likely to be remembered as one of the best Feehan has ever done.
