Dear Lucky,
After being at Feehan for over a year now, I’ve definitely settled into a routine and have gotten the swing of high school so far. However, since I’ve been so focused on school, I haven’t been able to try any of the new clubs and organizations offered here at Feehan. I’ve been thinking of expanding my interests and hope to meet even more people outside of my classes. Is there any advice you could give me about becoming more involved?
From,
Uninvolved Sophomore
Dear Uninvolved Sophomore,
Transitioning from middle school to high school is an understandable time to feel overwhelmed and very busy, so I completely get why Feehan clubs and other organizations might not have taken top priority in your schedule! However, now that you’ve spent an entire year at Feehan (and survived being a freshman), becoming more involved is the perfect next step to truly appreciating Feehan’s close-knit community. For starters, I would recommend joining a variety of different clubs here at Feehan to start exploring what you’re interested in. Clubs can help you pinpoint potential career interests, learn a new skill, and meet a new community of peers.
Feehan offers several clubs designed for if you want to pursue specific interests, such as Robotics Club, Engineering Club, Mock Trial, and ‘Rock Report. Other clubs give students an opportunity to give back to their community, like the Feehan Friends Project, American Red Cross, and the House of Compassion Club. Feehan also offers clubs that give students an opportunity to relax, enjoy themselves with friends, and discuss common interests, such as Film Review Club, Improv Club, Esports, and Book Club. With all of these (and many more) to choose from, Feehan has a club for everyone! If you find that there isn’t a club at Feehan that interests you, start your own club! To do so, talk to a teacher willing to help you and they will help you get started.
Sincerely,
Lucky
