Dear Lucky,
This is my first year as a highschool student. I am a freshman and I am really nervous about starting my classes. I hear from people that the amount of work is difficult and overwhelming. I want to get involved with extracurriculars but I’m scared my homework will take up all of my time. How do I go about balancing everything? I am also from a small town and don’t know anyone at Bishop Feehan. It feels like I will never make friends. Will it be like this all year?
From,
Nervous Freshman
Dear Nervous Freshman,
Being a freshman in the first couple weeks of high school can be difficult. It is true that the amount of work you will receive in your classes at Bishop Feehan will likely be more than what you got in middle school, but don’t let it scare you! If you develop a daily routine or schedule and don’t procrastinate, you will do exceptional in your classes and have time for extracurricular activities too! As for you not knowing anyone yet, that will quickly pass. It feels impossible in the beginning when you’re figuring everything out, but eventually you will find your friends, whether it’s in class, in an extracurricular, or at a social event like homecoming! Be yourself, stay positive, and you will do amazing your freshman year!
Sincerely,
Lucky
