Ms. Sweet, just like her name, is a kind and cheerful person, and an even better teacher! She graduated from Feehan in 2015, where she was involved in chorus and theater. She was also a part of the art club, which she now runs along with the Rec Room Club. After Feehan, she earned her undergraduate degree in art at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She recently got her Masters in teaching from Southern New Hampshire University. Following in her mom’s footsteps, she is now an art teacher at Feehan. She said she always wanted to do something with art since she was a kid. She figured out she wanted to teach when she started gaining experience in childcare. She was a babysitter and a camp counselor in the summers. She decided that she liked teaching high schoolers because she could relate to them and they had things in common.
In addition to art, her hobbies include knitting, reading, and listening to Taylor Swift of course! She says her favorite way to make art is painting. She said it’s very relaxing and “if you make a mistake, it’s ok because can you paint over it!”. When asked for any advice for students who want to get into teaching she offered this “Start by spending time with different age groups to see what age fits best with you”. Overall, Ms. Sweet is a wonderful teacher; we are so lucky to have her!
